Mess Day 01 - Dreadbox NYX V2
First on the block. The Dreadbox.
When I found out what Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio (MESS) was it took me some time to believe it was real. A place where you are invited to explore an almost endless space of sonic possibilities seemed almost too good to be true. But it is real. I have been there. As a gift I have been granted a 6 month pass to visit and I will be documenting my experience of the space, the people and of course the synths. I plan to spend a lot of time here when I can, this section of the site will be mostly like a journal. I hope that it might inspire others to explore like I did, I will leave the comments open if you want to add your thoughts.
I know my way around a synth and have quite a few of my own but some of these beasts I will be working with are far beyond my knowledge. But that’s the point. What other time could we ever hope to sit with a System 100 or a PERfourMER MKII for 4 hours at a time with a chance to just experiment?
